For information about registering to vote, where to vote and other information specifically for Cook County voters, go to the Cook County Clerk's voter information website at: http://www.voterinfonet.com/, or to the City of Evanston Clerk's Voter Information web page.

To register, one must:

Be a U.S. citizen.
Be 18 years old on or before February 5, 2008.
A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to February 5, 2008.
Present two forms of ID, one of which must have your current address. This can be a driver's license, state ID, utility bill, checkbook.

The Web site gives citizens the option to investigate a candidate's biography, campaign finance contributions, issue positions, special interest support, and, if an incumbent, his/her voting record.
