Volunteer Opportunities and
Potential Civics Projects

  
•  Assist with planning and conducting candidate forums for the April 2023 Consolidated Election.


•  Develop a guide, recruit student participants and conduct/facilitate focus groups relating to local government, civic engagement and civil discourse.


•  Develop and implement a plan in an effort to increase voter turnout for 2023 Consolidated Election.

•  Assist LWV of Evanston Observer Corps by attending, observing and reporting local government (council, committees and commissions) in action.


•  Advocate for a specific issue by contacting elected officials to support or oppose legislation on the local and/or state level. The League holds positions on numerous issues including climate action, affordable housing, women’s reproductive rights, voter rights, gun safety, criminal justice, etc.

•  Assist the LWV of Evanston utilize social media platforms.
